The balm’s ingredients include organic Indian neem seed oil, an Ayurvedic ingredient rich in oleic acid, nimbin, and nimbidin; camellia seed oil for rich moisture; fatty acids for a natural glow; and jojoba seed oil and moringa oleifera seed oil. The product was developed by founder Yukako Niizuma, after discovering that neem oil helped her husband’s atopic dry skin. This variation, 03, So in Love, is scented with oriental patchouli and ylang ylang and conditions skin, hair, nails, and scalp for an elegant glow. The pouches for the balm are created in collaboration with coUMEya, a brand that creates bags from upcycled obi sashes to pass down the art of Japan’s seamstresses and support their independence.
