Mr. Dipin Kamal Passi a Harvard Business School (2021) alumnus and the Joint Managing Director at Lotus Herbals (P) Ltd. . Coming from a family which has spent more than 4 decades in the Indian cosmetic industry, Dipin was always looking to modernize various facets of the business including manufacturing and operations.
Graduating as a BBA from Thames Valley University, U.K in 1999, he joined the Lotus group as Vice-President, heading Sales & Marketing division wherein he was instrumental building a strong retail presence for the BRAND and got to know the real pulse of the Indian market and its versatility. With his management ability and intuitive leadership skills, his father Mr. H.J.Kamal Passi endorsed him to pursue his master’s degree in management from the US. He graduated with an MBA in Management from Johnson & Wales University, Providence, RI with a GPA of 3.8 (EXCELLENT).
Mr.Dipin re-joined Lotus Herbals as Director International Trade and Operations in December, 2001. With his in-depth knowledge and practical approach, he made remarkable contributions in product developments and international product launches in more than 17 countries.
As part of the company’s expansion strategy in the Ayurvedic Personal Care, Mr. Dipin was instrumental in acquisition of Vedicare Ayurveda Pvt Ltd. (known for its brand SOULTREE) in Aug, 2020. Through this acquisition Lotus plans to enter many new international markets catching on to the growing polularity of Ayurveda. In September, 2021 the company (Lotus) under the joint leadership of Mr. Dipin Kamal PASSI and Mr. Nitin PASSI, made a fresh equity acquisition in Dermoceutical company Fixderma with 32% stake to enter the fast growing dermatology segment.
Apart from his leadership role in Lotus Herbals Pvt Ltd, Mr. Dipin is also a Director in Vedicare Ayurveda Pvt, Ltd., Managing Partner in Lotus Herbals Colour Cosmetics, Kanidi Biotch LLP and Evershine Garments LLP.
Being a member of FICCI’s Consumer Industry Panel (Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry) Mr. Dipin is involved in various policy matters for the trade body (FICCI) and actively provides his valuable inputs for Indian Government’s policy making. FICCI’s consumer panel was instrumental in helping the Indian Government in developing and tabling The Cosumer Protection Bill in July 2019. The same FICCI panel was also a key driver in helping the GST Council of India to fine tune the revolutionary GST Bill in 2017.
As a part of Mr. Dipin’s commitment to the country and its people, he is actively involved in various Social Welfare NGO’s such as Dhukh Bhanjan Trust (support the poor for their medical treatments), Sawhney Foundation (old age home), Little India Foundation (committed towards feeding the poor kids). Mr.Dipin is also a part of various investment and mentoring and incubation programmes through Investment Committes like Inflection Point Ventures (IPV), AGBI and VeritasX. These are primarly into startup funding to support and mentor budding entrepreneurs.
