Tap-Free Hair Wash Sheet

Allowing for hair to be washed with a no-rinse sheet, this innovation saves up to 21 liters of water by avoiding a shower. The sheet is formed from a binder-free, hydroentangled web of 100% lyocell which is cellulosic, plastic-free, and offers mechanical sebum pick-up. The sheet carries a single dose of an alcohol-free essence composed of a rice-ferment filtrate base; an oil-absorbing silicone crosspolymer powder; panthenol; a sugar-based glucoside surfactant; a cationic cellulose conditioner; and seven botanical extracts. The sheet delivers 80% sebum removal, with volume improved by 70% after use, and the formula air dries in 15 minutes. The 100% lyocell fiber is sourced from a producer holding FSC Chain of Custody and PEFC Chain of Custody certification. The 100% lyocell fiber is not classed as plastic by EU guidance, and the sheet falls outside the UK wet-wipe ban, and does not require the EU "turtle" single-use-plastic marking.

Research, Clinical Tests & Trials Results (Safety & Dermatological)
(1) Hair-wash water baseline (20 real homes, inline flow meter on the shower line): one shower wash uses 21 litres of water — the volume saved each time a sheet replaces a wash. (2) Instrumented sebum-removal tress test (in-vitro, three-arm: product vs dry-tissue control vs water-wetted wipe control; n≥6 tresses × 3 batches per arm; gravimetric; wiping protocol standardized): one sheet removes 80% of sebum. (3) Hair-volume imaging (n=20, fixed-rig front/top views, silhouette-area analysis, blinded grading): volume +70% after one sheet. (4) Sensitive-scalp tolerance self-assessment (n=15, all self-reported sensitive scalp; sting and itch self-rated on a 0–10 scale immediately, 5 and 30 minutes after use; pre-set acceptance criterion: mean <1.0, no individual score ≥3): 0/15 participants reported sting or itch at any time point (mean 0.0), meeting the criterion. (5) Time-to-dry: 15 minutes vs a water-wetted wipe control (gravimetric drying curve).
Claims & Benefits
One sheet completes one no-rinse cleanse of hair and scalp — no running water needed. 80% sebum removal in tress testing. Volume +70% after a single use. No rinse; air-dry in about 15 minutes. Alcohol-free and well tolerated on sensitive scalps: none of 15 self-reported sensitive-scalp participants reported sting or itch at any time point. Up to 21 litres of shower water saved per sheet — metered in 20 real homes.
Technology Features
A binder-free hydroentangled (spunlace) web of 100% lyocell — cellulosic, plastic-free, engineered for mechanical sebum pick-up — carrying a precision single dose (process-verified dose uniformity) of an alcohol-free essence: a rice-ferment filtrate base, an oil-absorbing silicone crosspolymer powder, panthenol, a sugar-based glucoside surfactant, a cationic cellulose conditioner and seven botanical extracts (Sophora flavescens root, Fucus vesiculosus, Eclipta prostrata, Portulaca oleracea, Polygonum multiflorum root, camphor-tree leaf, Phellodendron amurense bark). Fibre provenance: 100% lyocell from a fibre producer holding FSC Chain-of-Custody (SCS-COC-008815) and PEFC Chain-of-Custody (SCS-PEFC-COC-008815) certification covering dissolving pulp and lyocell fibre, issued by SCS Global Services and valid to 15 December 2026 — traceability certificates, cited as such; closed-loop solvent process. Regulatory position: being 100% lyocell and binder-free — a fibre that EU SUPD guidance does not classify as plastic — the sheet falls outside the UK plastic wet-wipe bans (Wales 18 Dec 2026; England 19 May 2027) and does not require the EU "turtle" single-use-plastic marking that plastic-containing wipes must carry.
Packaging Materials
Single-dose aluminium-foil barrier sachet, sized to the smallest fold the sheet allows — only as much packaging as one sheet needs, and enough to shield the alcohol-free essence and its botanical extracts from moisture loss and oxidation for the full shelf life, so no product is wasted. No secondary plastic.

Every sheet saves up to 21 litres of shower water — metered in real bathrooms, not modelled — from a 100% cellulosic.
Product Innovation
The innovation is in the use phase, not the bottle. Haircare’s largest environmental cost is the water of the wash itself; this sheet makes that wash unnecessary — one no-rinse sheet, no running water, cleanses hair and scalp. And we did not stop at asserting it: the wash it replaces was metered at 21 litres in 20 real homes, and that number is printed on the pack — measured, not modelled. The sheet is 100% lyocell, binder-free and plastic-free, clearing the UK wipe bans and EU turtle-marking.
Ingredients List & Formulation (INCI List Mandatory)
INCI: Aqua, Saccharomyces/Rice Ferment Filtrate, Vinyl Dimethicone/Methicone Silsesquioxane Crosspolymer, Butylene Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Hydroxyacetophenone, PPG-3 Caprylyl Ether, Panthenol, Decyl Glucoside, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Polyquaternium-10, Ethylhexylglycerin, Fragrance, 1,2-Hexanediol, Sophora Flavescens Root Extract, Disodium EDTA, Fucus Vesiculosus Extract, Eclipta Prostrata Extract, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Polygonum Multiflorum Root Extract, Cinnamomum Camphora (Camphor) Leaf Extract, Phellodendron Amurense Bark Extract. Formula notes: alcohol-free (no Alcohol / Alcohol Denat); preserved with phenoxyethanol, supported by hydroxyacetophenone, ethylhexylglycerin and 1,2-hexanediol; oil absorption from a silicone crosspolymer powder; sugar-based (glucoside) surfactant; cationic cellulose conditioner; seven botanical extracts. Substrate (not a formula ingredient): 100% lyocell nonwoven, binder-free.
How to use it
Tear open the single-dose sachet and unfold the sheet. Section the hair; wipe the scalp, roots and visibly oily or sweaty areas first, then the mid-lengths and ends. No rinsing — let hair air-dry (about 15 minutes) and comb through as normal. Use as needed between regular washes. Single use; avoid contact with eyes. After use, dispose of with household waste — do not flush.
Sustainability List of Certifications
Fibre chain: our lyocell fibre producer holds FSC Chain-of-Custody certification (SCS-COC-008815; FSC 100% / FSC Mix; scope: trade of dissolving pulp and production of lyocell fibre) and PEFC Chain-of-Custody certification (SCS-PEFC-COC-008815; scope: cellulosic fibre from dissolving pulp), both issued by SCS Global Services and valid 16 December 2021 to 15 December 2026 — cited as traceability certificates. Quantified use-phase impact: one sheet replacing one wash saves up to 21 litres of water (metered in 20 real homes). The sheet is single-use and not flushable, which is why the saving is stated per replaced wash rather than per unit.
