This highlighter’s formula offers a more natural alternative to bouncy, “mochi” textured highlighters, with ingredients that benefit both the environment and the wearer’s skin. Within the formula, to create a “bouncy” texture, acrylic is replaced with Cosmos-certified organic bitter apple microfiber, derived from the upcycled pulp residue of Ménard apples from France. Silicon oil, meanwhile, is replaced with natural oils from COSMOS-certified freshwater green algae and the South African resurrection plant. This means the use of silicone elastomer in the product is reduced from a typical 50% to 9%. Replacing acrylic with apple pulp is said to reduce skin roughness by 42%, fine lines by 28%, and redness by 29%, compared to typical “mochi” highlighters. The formula also shields the skin against blue light photo-aging and feels bouncy to the touch.
Product Description
This bouncy and fluffy highlighter consists of 81% of upcycled organic apple pomace, natural minerals, and cosmos-certified oils from a freshwater algae and Resurrection Plant. This replaces petroleum-based acrylic (PMMA), nylon, and silicon, which make the traditional mochi bouncy.
This delicate natural composition activates the skin’s bitter taste receptors to fight aging, fragrance receptors to increase alpha brain waves, and shield against blue light; and triggers visual and tactile joy.
It is produced at room temperature by the liquid powder process, unlike mochi that requires 70 degrees celsius. This process makes embossing possible, which could not be done on mochi.

FORMULATION
To offer a better alternative to mochi for the skin and the world :
Acrylic is replaced by cosmos organic bitter apple microfiber without sacrificing the finesse. The microfiber is made from upcycled pulp residue of organic Menard apple from France.
Silicon oil is replaced by natural oils from Cosmos-certified freshwater green algae and South African Resurrection Plant.
Silicone elastomer is thus reduced from typical 50% to 9% of the formula.
This formula chooses a 100% palm free, cosmos-natural preservative.
Responsible mica, RSPO palm oil, vegan, talc free, over 3,000 ingredients blacklisted.
PRODUCTION
Since the production does not require heating, unlike mochi, therefore 50% faster, and its carbon emission is much lower.
To achieve embossing: The highlighter is filled in a liquid state first, then dried in a tight vacuum chamber where the embossing plate is added. Embossing takes shape as the formula dries instantly.

TJ also feels responsible for lowering carbon footprint. For that, TJ has developed wet powder direct filling and molding to eliminate aluminum pans. Waste is thus less, while recycling is easier and simpler.

(3)At TJ, to be clean means to reduce. As our researchers challenge every ingredient, they have blacklisted over 3,000 ingredients that serve no essential functions.
